Audi Q5 Review

The Audi Q5 is an excellent choice if you are looking for a premium SUV, offering style, space and an incredibly relaxing driving experience.

Perfect for long drives, the vehicle can be adjusted and is available with a host of optional fitted extras to make it your own. Used Audi A5 cars are also very reasonably priced.

Driving and Performance

You will have a choice of three engines with Audi Q5 cars. The 2.0-litre petrol returns 30mpg, while the 2.0-litre diesel is a bit more economical, returning 40mpg and there is also a 3.0-litre 286hp engine available.

All models come with quattro four-wheel drive which offers fantastic grip, coping with slippery surfaces and harsh conditions well.  While it may not be quite as capable as a Land Rover Discovery for off-road adventures, Audi Q5 cars give a fine balance between practicality and comfort.

With launch control, this model can achieve 0-62mph in just over six seconds and the ride is quiet and smooth.

Interior

The Audi Q5 reaches new levels of comfort, with adjustable leather seats sculpted to make longer journeys more comfortable. There is an excess of space for even the tallest of passengers and the boot boasts a capacity of 550 litres, which is the same as the Mercedes GLC and BMW X3, but 100 litres less than the Jaguar F-Pace.

The interior of Audi Q5 cars are built using good-quality, solid materials and there is a generous amount of storage space. A seven-inch infotainment system comes as standard, but you can upgrade to an 8.3-inch display and a 12.3-inch Virtual Cockpit. The system is easy to use and keeps you focused on driving. The sound system is also very impressive.

Cost

A brand-new Audi Q5 would set you back almost £40,000 at the basic level, but this will rise depending on the trim level and optional fitted extras you choose. You’ll be looking at £350 for sliding and reclining rear seats, £1,400 for a panoramic glass roof, £1,395 for the advanced Technology Pack and even £175 for additional cup holders.

Used Audi Q5 cars are far less pricey and as they are well built and easy to maintain, pre-owned can be a great option.

Verdict

The Audi Q5 is not the toughest, but potentially the most comfortable and relaxing SUV currently on the market.
